Lushy and Orchestre L’Pow! from Portland play Saturday Feb 8th 9pm at the Fabulous The Royal Room in Columbia City.

Lushy is Seattle’s own homegrown cocktail culture bossa nova swing band, playing covers and original songs written by bandleader Andy Sodt with the wonderful musical stylings of Miss Annabella.

“Lushy concocts a refreshing pop style that blends original samples and Bossa beats with elements of vintage-Latin jazz, exotica, surf, new wave and sixties pop to create their own distinctive intercontinental sound.”

Orchestre L’Pow! (subtitled “Bump and Grind for the Sophisticated Set”) is visiting from Portland so lets give them a big Seattle welcome. From their fearless leader Dain Hudson:

“It is our first trip to the Jet City in over a year. We are pulling from our varied and eclectic catalog of music and performing music by the likes of Dick Dale, Elvis Presley, The Swingers, Johnny Kidd and The Pirates, The Shadows, plus some Cure thrown in for good measure. I would love to see your smiling faces and shaking booties on the dance floor.”
