Seattle has some great hotels, some interesting motels, quite a few Bed & Breakfasts and other short and long-term accommodations, so the visitor will have a lot of variety to choose from.
Seattle has a number of luxury hotels, including W, The Sorrento and the Olympic Four Seasons. The funny thing is, some of the older hotels are luxurious, but the rooms are on the small side.
A better choice for some people will be the newer moderate hotels, such as the Silver Cloud chain. There are several around the Seattle area, including one near University Village, one by the Safeco Stadium, and a one near Seattle University on Broadway.
An interesting choice for the intrepid traveler is the Ace Hotel. If you’re really on a budget, try the Green Tortoise Hostel near the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. It is more like a dorm room with shared bunk beds and communal kitchens, but it could be fun if you’re young or young-at-heart.
Another choice would be a Bed & Breakfast. Some of my favorite include Salisbury House on Capitol Hill and the Gaslight Inn. Also, be sure to look into Barclay Court and ask to stay in their “penthouse” designed by glass artist James Nowak.
