Then head down to Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery in Georgetown from 6:00 to 9:00 PM for an adult beverage at the opening of Gilbert’s HIGH SOFT LISP exhibition and book launch event that serves as the after-party for the Emerald City Comicon. Expect cameos from visiting pros, exquisite art, and DJ Russ Fallout spinning classic punk platters. See you this weekend.

It’s Fecal Fest at the Woodland Park Zoo! Fecal Fest is a twice yearly event where the community gets the ability to purchase larger quantities of our famous Zoo Doo compost product.

When:
Dr. Doo accepts entry cards for Zoo Doo or Bedspread on the announced dates in September and March only. Entry cards will be randomly selected according to supply and demand. Dr. Doo will contact the lucky drawn entries only. The Fecal Fest traditionally sells out.

Pick-up dates are in October and April. The lucky winners load the compost, using shovels provided by the zoo.

How:
Only one postcard per person is eligible for the drawing. Phone orders will not be taken. Send a standard postcard to Zoo Doo, Woodland Park Zoo, 601 N. 59th St., Seattle, WA 98103. Include the following information:

Name
Day/evening phone numbers
Preference: Zoo Doo or Bedspread
Amount of Zoo Doo or Bedspread you’d like to purchase (anything from a garbage bag to a full-size pick-up truck load)
Weekday or weekend preference for pick-up

Naked Girls, Reading or Girls Reading, Naked will be taking on

Science Fiction, 7pm Sunday, March 7th

This month’s salon features nude nerds from near and far, reading selections from their favorite works of Science Fiction!  From Octavia Butler to Ray Bradbury to Isaac Asimov, these ladies will take you with them on a fantastic (naked) journey wearing antennae, Starfleet Communicator badges, and little else!

March’s readers will include regular readers Polly Wood, Jesse Belle-Jones, Heidi Von Haught, special Seattle guest  Violet Tendencies and welcomes back from San Francisco none other than Vienna La Rouge!!

Naked Girls Reading has started a Book Drive, so bring new or slightly used books to donate to the Seattle Public Library! You can also bring a check to make a monetary donation.

LEONARD NIMOY, best known for his role as Mr. Spock in the original Star Trek series, will be visiting Seattle for Comicon on March 13th and 14th and he’ll be speaking and signing autographs both days.

Nimoy also directed the films Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (for which he also co-wrote the story)

He recently returned to television with his role as Dr. William Bell on Fox’s sci-fi series Fringe.
