There will be a “Pre-Function” party at the awesome Tacoma Cabana in downtown Tacoma http://tacomacabana.com/ starting at 5 pm, when they first open. This place gets busy so either show up early or make a reservation. The bartender here won the “Iron Tiki Tender” competition at Tiki Kon in Portland in 2014.
728 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA 98402
The Java Jive is only a short distance from The Tacoma Cabana, so plan accordingly with a car service or designated driver. 2102 S Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409
The official Hotel for the weekend will be the Holiday Inn, downtown Tacoma at 2102 S. “C” Street. Rooms are $125 for a double Queen or single King so you can make it a romantic get away or group up to save on dough. If we don’t book 10 rooms by March 16th the rate will be $135, but I think we can sell 10 rooms.
Phone directly 253-272-2434 and ask for the “Tiki Fest” rate. This rate is only good until March 16. You can book on-line with preferred code “Tik”
There is a free light rail train near the hotel that stops one block away from the Tacoma Cabana (the distance between them both is about 1 mile). The Java Jive is 2 miles away from the hotel (but in the opposite direction from the Cabana) and not on light rail.
A Sunday brunch will be at the much beloved Poodle Dog in Fife (est. 1933). This is a casual, show-up-and-grab-a-table kind of affair, starting at noon, but hey show up sooner if you can’t wait. http://poodledogrestaurant.com/
