As Director and Co-Curator with Jodavid of the Official Bad Art Museum of Art, I think I know my bad art, and Dan’s got it.
From the Collection of Daniel R. Smith, you can see psychotropic landscapes, bedeviled sea captains, libidinous beach scenes and clown-strewn still lifes. This collection of paintings, all found locally at thrift stores and garage sales, represents hopes and dreams that fell by the wayside. Not all bad in execution, but certainly not all good either, each painting was born of an idea; an idea ripe for rediscovery.
Celebrate hopes and dreams while having a silent auction for Daniel Smith’s collection of lost and then found paintings. Accompanying short stories, some imagined histories of these paintings have been penned by local writers to enhance the exhibit. All proceeds from the night will go to Dan’s step-dad to help pay off expenses from Dan’s mother’s passing.

If you plan to participate in the auction, please bring cash or check. The gallery has generously arranged this fundraiser and will pass on 100% of the proceeds, but understandably they do not want to be charged for taking credit cards. Otherwise the event is free & open to anyone who wants to come down!
